Common Recruitment Examination and Basic Law Test applications open tomorrow
Prospective applicants for civil service posts at degree or professional level can apply from tomorrow (August 7) to sit for the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) and Basic Law Test (BLT) or standalone BLT to be held on a Saturday in October and December respectively in Hong Kong.
A spokesman for the Civil Service Bureau (CSB) said that valid CRE results are required of applicants for civil service posts at degree or professional level. People interested in applying for civil service posts at degree or professional level in the near future may wish to consider sitting for the coming examination, to be eligible to apply for these civil service openings that might be available before another CRE is held.
For civil service jobs requiring degree or professional qualifications, candidates will need to have taken a BLT. The test result will be one of the considerations to assess the suitability of a candidate for a job.
Applicants for the coming CRE and BLT or standalone BLT in Hong Kong should be holders of degree or professional qualifications, or university students who will have attained a degree in the 2009-10 academic year. Candidates applying to take CRE only or both CRE and BLT will sit for the CRE and BLT on a Saturday in October. Those who already possess the requisite CRE or equivalent results and apply to take only the BLT will sit for the standalone BLT on a Saturday in December.
