Re-appointment of Chairman of Public Service Commission
The Government announced today (April 15) that the Chief Executive has re-appointed Mr Nicholas Ng Wing-fui as Chairman of the Public Service Commission for another term of two years from May 1, 2011 to April 30, 2013.
The Secretary for the Civil Service, Miss Denise Yue, said, "I am pleased that Mr Ng will continue to lead the Commission. Mr Ng has provided outstanding leadership for the past six years. His exceptional abilities and deep understanding of the civil service has facilitated the Commission in fulfilling its role to ensure fairness and impartiality in appointments, promotions and discipline in the civil service."
The Commission is an independent statutory body set up under the Public Service Commission Ordinance. Its major role is to advise the administration on appointments, promotions and discipline in the civil service.
The serving members of the Commission are Mrs Mimi Cunningham King Kong-sang, Mr Nicky Lo Kar-chun, Ms Wong Mee-chun, Professor Chan Yuk-shee, Mr Vincent Lo Wing-sang, Mr Joseph Pang Yuk-wing and Mr Herbert Tsoi Hak-kong.
