Mandatory Provident Fund Arrangements
Government employees, other than those exempted, are subject to the provisions of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (MPFSO) and are required to join a registered Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme. Government, as an employer, has made arrangements for these employees to join a registered MPF scheme and to have the employer's and employees' mandatory contributions paid into their scheme accounts.
In general, officers appointed to the civil service on new probationary/agreement terms are required to join the MPF scheme in accordance with the MPFSO. Upon progress onto new permanent terms, they would be eligible to join the Civil Service Provident Fund Scheme. (Details)
