Application Procedures (including online application)
Recruitment advertisements for all government jobs are posted on this website and may also be placed in local newspapers. Please read carefully the advertisements of individual posts and submit applications before the closing date for applications as specified in the advertisements.
Most vacancies require applications to be submitted on a prescribed application form (G.F. 340):
- For jobs that accept online applications, please apply via the G.F. 340 On-line Application System [Click here to read the Frequently Asked Questions.]
- For jobs that accept applications submitted in person or by post, hard copies of the application form (G.F. 340) are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centre of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centre of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. Applicants may also download the application form (G.F. 340). On receipt of applications, the recruiting grade / department will issue an acknowledgement of application to the candidates.
The new version of application form for Government jobs G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) has been in use and available with effect from 26 July 2023. Candidates who apply for Government jobs advertised on or after 26 July 2023 should use the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023). If candidates submit the old version form G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013), they will be required to fill in the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) afresh and submit it within seven days upon request. If candidates fail to submit the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) within the stipulated deadline, their applications will not be processed further.
For the avoidance of doubt, for recruitment exercises advertised before 26 July 2023, both the old version G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013) and new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) shall be accepted.
Those candidates who are selected for selection interview or examination will normally receive an invitation in about six to eight weeks from the closing date for applications.
