Pensions in payment on or before April 1, 2019 have been increased by 2.7% with effect from April 1, 2019. Such arrangement does not apply to pensions paid to pensioners who have not yet reached the normal retirement age. Under the mechanism prescribed by law, the increase is determined according to the percentage increase in the average monthly Consumer Price Index (A) of 2018-19 over that of the preceding year.
